Cairo and Alexandria

Al-Azhar Mosque, built in 970 AD. Mr. Muhammed gave me a great summary of Islam, plus some informative booklets.
-Walked to Midan Hussein. Bought a papyrus painting in Khan Al-Khalili. Stopped at Fishawi's Coffeehouse (Ahwa) for the famous mint shai.
-Walked through Islamic Cairo.
-Train to Alexandria. Roman Amphitheater. Sunset over the Mediterranean Sea along the Corniche near Fort Quitbey (former site of the Pharos Tower, one of the 7 Ancient Wonders Of The World.)
-Checked into Hotel Crillon w/beautiful views of the sea.
-China House for dinner on top of the famous Cecil Hotel (Sofitel). Met Eman and Manar there.
-Jumped off a moving bus, then saw the Mohammed Ali Statue (not the boxer). Many little kids playing in the square after 11 PM!
-Watched Italy beat France in the EuroCup match while at the Cap d'Or bar.
